Five broad goals

Each goal is backed by concrete strategies for the next three years.

Strengthen and expand the availability and diversity of housing, resident programs, and community supportive services.

  • Expand housing production through acquisition, adaptive re-use, and diverse development models.
  • Engage all residents — especially those from historically marginalized communities — to shape our programs and services.
  • Enhance programming for seniors and youth, reaching those who face greater barriers to access.
  • Help residents access resources that protect their human rights.
  • Strengthen and improve access to homeless services.

Cultivate reciprocal partnerships for expanded capacity and reach.

  • Partner with culturally specific organizations for expanded mutual effectiveness.
  • Explore co-developing housing as a turn-key partner.
  • Build collaborations with organizations providing culturally specific healthcare, including behavioral health.
  • Enhance learning and skill-building through partners offering financial literacy, homeownership counseling, and more.

Grow and sustain our organizational resources.

  • Manage real estate assets so they are self-sustaining and serve our diverse residents.
  • Build infrastructure to manage the portfolio with real-time data.
  • Diversify our revenue streams.
  • Modernize technology and data systems to advance equity and operational efficiency.

Further an inclusive organizational culture where employees and volunteers feel valued, respected, and supported.

  • Foster a shared sense of purpose and connection to our mission.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain staff who reflect the communities we serve.
  • Support managers to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging at the team level.
  • Invest in current employees through a diversity-focused advancement plan, and promote employee wellbeing.

Ensure a smooth executive transition.

  • Share the succession process — timelines, knowledge transfer, milestones — with stakeholders, staff, and volunteers.
  • Establish a transition team to onboard new leadership.
  • Build a resilient bench of leaders to position the organization in strength.
  • Implement change-management strategies to minimize disruption.
